How to get rid of Termites
In all termite cases, workers are expendable, and that’s why the queens lay so many eggs. When trying to eliminate a colony, one would have to eliminate the queen, to prevent the regeneration of a nest.

Harvester Termites
Harvester Termites are often seen out in the open harvesting grass causing extensive damage to lawns, sports fields and pastures. They feed on dead and living plants like grasses, leaves, twigs and seedlings and a single queen can lay up to 25 000 eggs per day.
Subterranean Termites
They live below the ground in huge colonies. The queen is found in a chamber deep inside the nest, far below the surface of the ground and can lay up to 30 000 eggs a day. Subterranean termites mostly target dry timber, and therefore they are of major economic significance.
Drywood Termites
Dry-Wood termites are small colonies that live entirely in Dry Wood. They can infest Furniture and other wooden structures in homes and other buildings. These are mostly found along the cost in SA, and can cause serious structural damage to buildings.
